Temperatures are heating up and spring is around the corner. A new season means time for new shoe trends, and that’s when we look to our favorite designers for inspiration. Keep reading for the best shoe trends seen on the spring 2021 runways.

Chanel

You can always count on Chanel for a collection that mixes the house’s iconic femininity with modern trends. As for the shoes, the spring 2021 season saw low strappy heeled sandals intertwined with high-heeled sandals with t-strap detailing. Chanel was not the only design house to showcase strappy sandals, as you’ll see in our recap of the shoe trends from Dior’s new collection. Finally, sleek loafers with interlocking Cs are sure to be a popular pick from the new collection.

Gucci

We may not have seen Gucci’s 2021 collection on the runway, but seeing these new designer shoes in a lookbook didn’t make them any less fun. Among the shoe trends in this new collection were: heeled mules, fisherman sandals, and metallic heels. Tying many of the designer shoes together? Gucci’s classic horse-bit detailing. A nd, we’d be remiss not to mention the colorful sneakers in the spring 2021 collection, highlighting that the sneaker shoe trend is here to stay.

Prada

In Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’ first collection together, there was one silhouette that reigned supreme: the kitten heel. Most of the collection was streamlined and pared-back in a striking way; the shoes, mostly pointy-toed slingback kitten heels, were no exception. And yet, despite the old-school heel height, there was plenty of modernity to bring these designer shoes to the forefront of the season. For one, the heels were curved in a visually interesting way. And for another, there was plenty of color on these spring shoes. From stark white to cornflower blue to black and royal purple color-blocking, unexpected colors reigned supreme on the feet of Prada’s models.

Louis Vuitton

The spring 2021 Louis Vuitton collection was a lesson in contrasts. More feminine clothing was balanced out with more masculine shoes. Models donned modern-looking brogues that had contrasting soles, often in classic black and white. There were also flats with pops of bright color. On the other end of the spectrum? Massively chunky heels with a curved toe and architectural silhouette. These were not the only designer shoes this season that played with architectural detailing, so if you don’t want to play with color, consider playing with shape this spring. To round out the show, models wore shoes that were essentially the boot-version of a down jacket—complete with Louis Vuitton’s signature logo.

Dior

The shoe trend on Dior’s runway? All about the Roman sandals. This design house paid homage to its Italian roots with a variety of flats, from braided leather straps to sleek lace-up sandals. Mesh ballet flats also made an appearance on the runway. While some of the designer shoes on the spring 2021 runways played with color, Dior kept things neutral.
